Sightseeings of Vayots Dzor
First day: Yerevan-Khor virap- Areni village-Noravank-Jermuk
A tour to Ararat region to Khor Virap /45km, 42 minutes/. Here is the armenian famous place of pilgrimage tied with the name of Gregory the Illuminator.
A tour to Vayots Dzor /76km, 1 hour/. Here tourists are generally interested in Areni village, where they can taste different types of wine.
A tour to Noravank /Vayots Dzor, 10km, 20 minutes/. It has been a sacred place still from the ancient times. There are many khachkars on the territory of the complex among which the khachkars made by Momik are distinguished by their high artistic qualities.
A tour to Jermuk /Vayots Dzor, 69km, 1 hour and 10 minutes/. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Second day: Jermuk- Tatev monastery-Goris
Breakfast in the hotel and a walk in Dzermuk /Kechut basin, Jermuk waterfall/. Jermuk is a sanatorium town and there are many legends about its origin. According to one the wounded deer gets to the mineral sources of Dzermuk, falls into the water and comes out wholly recovered and disappears in the forest.
A tour to Tatev monastery /Syunik region, 114km, 1 hour and 43 minutes/, return to Goris /35km, 32 minutes/ and stay overnight. Tatev monastery (Apostle St. Yevsthaddeus’ vow / has been a spiritual-cultural center, a large monastical establishment. Here is the longest ropeway which attracted the whole world attention.
Third day: Goris-Yerevan
Breakfast in the hotel, a walk in Goris and return to Yerevan /238km, 3 hours and 15 minutes/. Goris is a town with a unique armenian architectural plan, beautiful nature, with rare historical-cultural monuments and inimitable colour.
